Having trouble with geolocation?

Updated by Antoine Gouritin

Is the geolocation of your outdoor tour incorrect or not showing up at all? To fix this problem, please check the following:

  1. If your location is not showing up at all: Does your smartphone or tablet have a GPS chip? Some of the older iPad models, for example, are not equipped with a GPS chip. If this is the case, you will not be able to use geolocation services on any app. If possible, try using another device.
  2. If your location is incorrect: If possible, try activating mobile data on your device. This will help your GPS chip to get a more accurate reading of your position.
  3. Open the app you typically use for navigation - Google Maps, for example. If your location there is also incorrect, this means the local GPS signal is too weak to get better results.
At best, GPS technology on smartphones and tablets can locate your position with a margin of error of approximately 10 to 15 feet.
